The basic explanation of what we aim to achieve is “homeostasis.” We, through the use of movement as a powerful rehabilitation tool want the human body to maintain an optimal physical state. Of course, the body as a whole, does not only comprise of the physical, but the chemical and mental as well.
Our goal is bring the body to its possible state so that one has a better chance to focus on all other aspects as well. Movement and massage go hand in hand with one another, as we are make use of physical pressure and manipulation of tissue and fibers to release adhesions within muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments. This in turn provides a better chance to improve the flexibility and integrity of the various tissues in the body to help with the rehabilitation and strengthening process.
The body is made to move, it is a locomotive machine that transports us, via our limbs, from one place to another. Whether it is during everyday normal activity, whilst playing sports or in reaction to spontaneous external stressors. When we are without injury, disorders or disease, pain-free movement is normal and should always be the goal of one´s rehabilitation process.
